Ideal weight

This is one of the most important, most sensitive and most relevant questions — how to reach and maintain an ideal weight? It is clear that you cannot have a beautiful, fit body if you pay no attention to your weight at all. But what does ideal weight really mean? What is included in the phrase “weight management”?
The president of the Latvian Association of Dietitians, Biķernieki Hospital physician and dietitian Andis Brēmanis explains that a person's genes determine not only the color of their eyes and hair, but also the build of their body — whether it is finer or heavier. Weight should be managed in order to preserve this body type dictated by nature, so that a person simply does not become overweight. But don't jump to conclusions! This refers not to kilograms, but to the amount of fat, because it is fat that should be neither too much nor too little. Weight, of course, provides information. For example, if a 160 cm tall woman weighs 120 kg, that is clearly too much. But you have to remember that kilograms are made up not only of fat but also of muscle mass, which, by the way, is heavier than fat. If muscle mass is large, then weight too can be impressive, yet there may be no excess kilograms at all.
Usually a person trying to lose weight tracks every gram they lose, but it would be far better to think about wellbeing and appearance. It is important that we are satisfied with life, that we don't suffer from the unnecessary stress that unrealistic diets often cause (such diets can really be very silly and restrictive), that when we look in the mirror we like what we see, and ultimately — that our clothes fit. Only once these goals have been reached is it worth paying attention to such an indicator as “kilograms.”
Remember!
A person does not need to become light. Our goal is to feel better and look better. The unit of beauty is not the kilogram, but appearance and wellbeing.
